Did you mean dry?, Am I missing something? I saw a jet at a local store, I think it's a 7x12 wet or dry for $900. I LOVE the feature of making it vertical also!!!
    thanks,

Maybe I should have said Wet/dry. When you get up to the med sized Ellis and Wellsaws, they be wet. All of the ones I see in operation are only wet. Saves on everything.

Bert, the vast majority of the saws in that class are wet cutters. The 4x6 and 5x6 are dry cuts. When you get up to the heavier industrials, they have to be wet or the blade will not last long at all.

I noticed nobody suggested a wet bandsaw???Why not? I thought if you cut a lot,you would want the oil to keep your blade cool and longer?
    thanks,

at the plant, we use a WellSaw it is a real good machine. the one we have is a little bigger than what you spec'd but you should check them out. we also have a khama bandsaw for fast production cuts. it is extremely fast, faster than a multi-cut saw, which i was hard to believe. proof is in the pudding, i guess. i don't know the sites for either saw. we get them from the lws

I've done a bit of research, and the one that comes to the top is an Ellis 1600.

    http://www.ellissaw.com/Band-Saws/3/1600-mitre-band-saw

It should fit your bill, and is about in your price range. It is a top quality saw, will last you for years. Here's the 2nd best price I've found on one. The best was $2195 + shipping from southern MN, but he doesn't have an ad up right now:

    Good luck!

Nice saw. The pics are way too big, though. You should resize them so you can actually see the whole thing. I used Irfanview, a freebie, to do this resize. The new size is 480 x 640 and much easier to view....fwiw. They also load much faster at 55kb vs over 300kb.

I have one. Its a horizontal bandsaw. I paid 1200 CND. I like it. Its a bandsaw too. The table is a little hoakyas you will see. The head swivels between, - 10 and about +190 degrees.
It has a 3 speed gearbox that can be switched in the fly. Its a nice rig I like it alot. Its made in Tiawan though. So... if you dont mind the offshore thing....

Have a look at the photo's.

If you need more info let me know..

    Regards, Rick.
