Couple I built, Make sure you have the equipment, and knowledge to go forth in building one, If you plan to use a weld pak 100 to weld together 6" channel, please stop here..... I'm not trying to be a safety Nazi, but just dont want to hear about one falling apart on a highway. After seeing that link to a guy instructing people to weld on youtube, I have almost lost all faith in people....

i have a millermatic 140 and a syncrowave 250......i know it would probably be easier to go buy one but for the size i want it would cost around 1400 for a used one around where i live...i was thinking if i could find a cheap set of axles and get the materials that i could do it cheaper but maybe im wrong....i know there would be alot of time involved but thats what i like....always looking for new projects to challange myself.....it will only be hauling two fourwheelers one weighing 210 pounds and another weighing 240 so it would be a big load they are just long....thats why i want around a 7x16 how much do you all think this would cost??

I like overkill. It was all scraps except for 1/2 of the channel. I found the deck in the local dump, it was a full 4x 10 sheet of 3/16" diamond plate, but it was slightly pitted... Right now it has a little bobcat on it, but I plan to perhaps redo the layout if I get an sa-200 I was looking at....

Building your own trailer
I am right now in the process of building my own trailer. I am 70% finish. It is a 6 feet 4 inches wide and 12 Feet 6 inches long. It is for hauling 3 ATV's.
Built very heavy duty. Loading the ATV's from the sides and not the rear. I am runing all my wires inside the boxed frame. I am also going to have a removeable toung. Can't spell for sh--. I am using a 3500# axle with 20.5X8X10 tires rated at 1670 lbs each load range F 12 ply. Safety first. The tires are going to be placed under the bed. Whenever a person builds a trailer they build it to suit them. I have a reason for having a removeable toung. If your are interested in knowing more let me know and I can give you my plans. right now most of them are all in my head. When building a trailer there is alot to think about. Total weight placed on the trailer, weight of the trailer. Do you want brakes. Do you want single axle or double etc. I have 2 or 3 pics right now but in a couple more weeks I will be almost done, and I will have alot more pics. ArnoldLincoln Idealarc 250

Building your own trailer
Before replying to your post, I should have read all the post & thread. I
was under the impression that you were going to be hauling 4 ATV’s. If you are going to be hauling 2 ATV’s than all you have to do is build a 6 X 8, load them from the side. That will also be keeping your weight and cost way down. Not counting my time, I have less than $1000.00 in my trailer. If your interested contact me through a private message. That will make it alot easier for use to comunicate I’m sure I can help you out. Arnold
