ok i go to a vocational school in northern ohio called EHOVE and my instructor said as our classes senior project next year we can build a streetrod. If i get the frame, suspension, and drivetrain then we will modify everything into a streetrod (includes making our own body and possibly frame) so i would just like to know some of the better ways of building it and what cars i should look for to get a good suspension and motor for a streetrod (mainly looking for older cars) i am excited about doing this because, not only am i goin to learn alot, but i will also get keep the car after we are done. Please think of cheaper ways as i am working with a budget. fortunately though, our school just bought 6 all new miller xmt 304 multiprocess welders (brand new lincolns also but.......they suck) so throw whatever ya got out there and i will take all into consideration

Well, a street rod can be made out of any car or truck. Most importantly it should be some thing you like. So for starters, do you want a car or truck, are you partial to any particular make ? Astreet rod is a very personal thing. Once we narrow down what you like we can go from there.

You might want to start a new thread and name it some thing like school project car or street rod , something that will attract people knowledgeable in this area.
Since you have nothing you particularly like you should start looking in the paper for cheap automobiles in youre price range and make a list of the one you might be interested in . Write them down on paper becouse you will never find them again in the want adds, I've been through that before. Also talk to used car dealers in the area. They might be willing to give you a really sweet deal since its a school project.
