i definitely would have worn the welding gloves also. not only for a bite protection but for the claws on them. thats a big guy you found there. the one i had was only about 5-6" tall to the tips of his pointed ears ? they looked kinda like ears or feathery horn's?? i was young and didn't even think about a zoo to take him to . i probably would not think of one today aether( animal control or our vet now), good idea with the zoo.
