  • Something I've noticed

I've noticed lately there seems to be a lot more activity on this side of Miller
than in the past. And by looking at the threads, it's not just related to the Welder Challenge. As I switch back and forth between the two, this side seems to have more "Today" posts than the other. Maybe it's just me.
I just started a thread with a question about welding aluminum and normally I would have put it on Motorsports side but it' here instead. Are the people just as smart on this side?

This may seem like a really stupid and redundant response on my part, but like myself, many members are on BOTH Miller sites.... And Hobart Weld Talk, And Shop Floor Talk, And Welding Web, and, and, and.

With all the drama on the Motorsports side of late, it isn't surprising that more will post here than there.

DDA52, That's the exact reason I don't post over there (motorsports side), too much drama, way too many ego problems, and a bunch of instigators.

I frequent the other sites (mentioned by Black Wolf) and a few others as well and have found that I do like this site much better and like the people over here much more than anywhere else. This is a really great group of guys on here and it seems as the only time there is trouble here is when the trouble makers on the motorsports side come over here. Dave

monte55, Are the people just as smart on this side? you ask.
        Nah, Not a chance

              Monte,
I was just responding to the idea that Miller had different members for each forum when in fact, most of us serve "dual duty" and contribute to both as well as several other forums. That's all, nothing more.
Yes, I agree with many of the explanations that others have posted after me today. Personally, with all the garbage that has gone on lately, we're darn lucky to have anyone still willing to visit here.
I'm with Dave (Dabar39) that I enjoy being here (Miller's sites) the most, and enjoy the members here the most. I spend most of my time either on here (Miller's 2 sites) or on Hobart Weld Talk. It's all pretty much the same core group of individuals to deal with. Yes, we have our share of wingnuts that will go un-named for now. But they are a minor distraction in the scheme of things.
Hopefully in time, the Motorsports side will catch up & get back to normal.
Hope that clarifies things. Sorry for any misunderstanding.

                Something I've noticed

                Hey monte55

I think both sides are a pretty good place to get help from, It's just that with the motorsports side you have to weed through a little more crap to get to the information that you need that’s all. But all in all though, I would have to say this would be the better side out of the two. I have to agree with what Finney said; "We are welders", we did not go to school to major in English to become a welder. We don't care if you know how to spell, or if your grammar is just right, or if your eyes are crossed or too close together and your mama dresses you funny. If you make sense to me about a certen subject that we talk about then your .02 means more to me than how you spell, your grammar, and how your mama dresses you I don't care. We are Welders, We are professionals, and we all have our .02.And that even goes for the 6 people on here that I really don't care for either. And you know who you are.

I don't mean this to sound so harsh.

I find the drama sort of entertaining in a way. Doesn't really bother me either way.

Looked at both and like this one best. Like someone said less drama. No need to bash people over anything and nothing wrong with keeping your mouth shut if you dont have something good to say I read more than i write and i've picked up quit a few tips from here.
