  • Wall Power for Suitcase X-Treme

Does anyone know if a Miller Suitcase X-Treme MIG welder can be configured to run off of a 220V wall circuit? If so how?

The Suitcase is a great welder. I have a Bernard gun on it. It sure would be nice to run it inside without having to fire up the generator. I currently run it off of a Bobcat 250NT. If not, I may have to spring for a Millermatic 212.

    Thanks,

    Wooly

There is no transformer inside to give you welding power. You MUST use a separate welding power source with a feeder-only unit.

Look also at the Hobart Handler 210 or the Millermatic Passport, both of which I own.

More portable than the MM210/212, if you need any portability out of them, especially the Passport.

If staying in the shop, it's awfully hard to beat the power, duty cycle, and reputation of the MM210.
