weld_13,
the VW's had 2 basic motors one was smaller than the other, when i was in germany they were all the time looking for the larger of the 2. i blew mine up and one of the guys that race traded me a freshly rebuilt smaller version for my blown up larger one. good deal for me and he was happy to have the larger one to rebuild for his racer. i think it was a 1300CC and a 1600cc but not shore. been too many years.
thanks for the help

Yes 1914 is the number of cc's, one of the standard upgrade sizes for the cylinders and pistons. Had a few bugs over the years. Likely it started out as a 1500 or 1600 stock. 1500 is 91 cubic inches, 1914 is almost 117. Nice easy upgrade. Sizes over the years were 1200, 1300, 1500, 1600 and some of the vw buses had an 1800.
mine was a bug so i suspect it was a 1600 and he gave me a 1300 for it. even put it in for me.
thanks for the help
