  • Hi Everyone

Hi I just joined this board. I am going to buy a Millermatic 175 and was wondering if anyone has pics or plans for a cart for it. I thought that it would be a good first project for me.
    Thanks,
    Joe

    ovr-ez,
That is a nice machine you`ve picked up for youre self.I`m sure there are some folks here to help out with cart specs. You could also try the Ask Andy forum over at MillerMoterSports. There are pic`s and such there for carts you may be interested in.

HI, I was wondering what you paid for yours with a cart?
In my area it's hard to get anything from the dealers without paying quite a bit..them throwing it in is out of the question.*LOL*
        Thanks, Farris

              Welcome

Welcome to the Group. I have bought several Miller Machines and they all came with running gears. I think the best thing to do as far as getting a plan to build one is go down to your Dealer and copy there design. It should be fairly simple to build one just like the factory.

The prices are running about the same at the places I have checked. I plan on running gas. I would like to get the 210 but it is a little more than I was looking to spend right now. This will be my first mig welder so I thought the 175 would be a good starting point. I have been looking for a used 210 or 250 but without much luck.
                Thanks,
                Joe

If you ask Mac he can tell you about these MM175's...I've read some of his post and he really likes the Millermatic175. If i remember correctly 030 wire is what most of the guys use.
I just checked on ebay and the cheapest mm175 without a cart was $675.00 and that was free insurance.....and $753.00 with a cart and that was free shippping. No taxes unless you live in the state that the dealer you're ordering from lives in. You probably can't save anything by building one yourself BUT it would be fun to do and everytime you look at it you'll know you built it..plus it can be built to your specs.
Keep us informed on what you do.
                  Regards, Farris

My friend if you build your own cart I would use a Pneumatic Tire on the rear and at least a 4" Swivel Caster on the front. I have changed out the hard plastic wheels that came on two of my MM251's to a 10" Pneumatic tires on the rear that I bought from HF for about six bucks each. It sure made a differance when we have to roll them from one end of the shop to the other or around a project that your working on if the floor is not keep real clean.

                        Joe,

Welcome to the Board, you will have fun building your own cart.
and yes the bigger the wheels you use the easier it will roll around.
