New member looking for overhead boom

Hi all. Been hanging around here for about 6 months. I have learned alot and have a lot to learn thats for sure. Just built my 40 x 60 shop and will be finishing it this summer. I do not have my own business, just a hobby for now, I love to weld. My question is, a friend of mine is looking for a overhead boom to mount his wirefeeder on. The kind that swing around overhead. Does anyone know where to pick up a used one or maybe have one for sale? Thanks for the input and I can't wait to post picks of the shop and projects when I can.

Not sure what you mean by "the type that swings around" . Are you talking about a truck mount type of boom ?
Look forward to see the pictures of youre shop. I like to see how other people set things up.

Sorry bout that

Sorry about that, I have seen them before where they mount to the ceiling and can pivot almost 360 degrees at that point with the feeder on the end. Obvioiusly you wouldn't pivot more than 360 or your cables would be wound up but I think you know what I am getting at. He is looking at parking underneath with his semi trailers and then can weld on both sides, inside or out and just move the feeder overhead. I hope this helps. Thanks.

Here's a boom I built soley to get the cables off the floor of my weldshop. The boss tripped over some cables and this is the result....It has 2 flourescent lights, 4 120v outlets, 2 440v outlets, 2 air handler reels, 2 120v extension cord retractable reels, and an argon hose, feeding my MIG welder from the gas mixer on the wall. It's better to design your own than to buy one already built, that won't serve your needs.
