if you would like i can draw you up a basic how to and about size diagram. if you get stuck let me know and i will help if i can. i used a 10"X3/4"X6' piece of pine for mine, but i cant remember if it took 1 or 1 1/2 to get it done?? sorry.
just let me know if you need any help.
the mail box was like $7 and then you need 2 pieces of pine about $5 each i think it was but it will very greatly depending on the grade of wood and the place you get it.
its a fun little project though.
      thanks for the help
      ......or..........
      hope i helped

sorry it took so long, my up and about time is limited and i have had a lot going on lately. any way here it is i hope its of some help. you don't have to fallow it exactly but it should give you an idea as a starter then you can move on to other bed's of cab designs.
on this truck i used the least amount of wood and it was the least complicated. i did not even add front fenders so you can work that out if you want them a quick look back at the blue truck will show the basic shape and how to add them, or do some thing creative of your own.
i also used 3/4" for the tires on this one for front and back making the back's Dulles where as the blue one i used a 2"X6" to cut the tires out, so they were big thick ones. keep that in mind when you make your tires you may have a different idea. if you have an old broken tonka truck you could use its wheels.
any how lets get on to the pic's. i labeled the parts on the prints so you would know what they were and where they went. i missed the back bumper, it got no letter but you should be able to see what it is no problem.

truck pic 5 & 8 have letters to show location
              on the prints
              a) this goes inside the underside of the mail box as the base to add the frame to. 1 ea.
              B) truck frame 2 ea.
              C) running boards 2 ea.
              D) bed supports 3 ea.
              E) door with 1/4" grove inside for mail box lip from back piece (you will see when you look at the box if your's needs the cut out) 2 ea.
              F) cab back 1 ea. i cut 2 window holes, but you can make the window any way or not at all if you want.
              G) cab roof 1 ea.
              J) flat bed 1 ea. you can build the bed different if you want. for my blue truck i cut small groves and put in 2 Pisces of 5/64" aluminum MIG wire twisted together as a retainer strip like a real bed would have . lots of extra work i also stained the top of the bed on the blue one.
              K) cab front pillar 2 ea.
              L) cab front piece. 1 ea. you can use the mail box to trace the curve to cut it out to fit good..
              M) tire 6 ea. if Dulles in back or just 4 if you want, up to you.

hope this all helps, enjoy. i think you can get the hole thing out of 1 ea 10"X3/4"X6' piece but i'm not 100% shore on that. good luck enjoy.

its not a sticker. it's one of my POW*MIA trailer hitch plug Pisces i spray painted threw. just laid the 14 gage steel cutout onto the door and sprayed over it so the paint only when where the cut out parts were.
at one point i also made plugs for trailer hitches and i just happened to have a plate left, they were a lot of work with no way to sell.
i also used one to make a license plate ring for the wife's car,
                    sorry i cant help more.

i did 2 but the wife couldn't reach the gas and see out the windshield at the same time so we had to get rid of it. now we have a Subaru legacy wagon. very nice little wagon. best part is the seat adjusts enough for me or her to drive it. she is only like 4'0" other than the price to have work done on it the subaru is great.
here is a pic of the plate ring and the subaru not the newest or greatest shape but runs great.
