summer is here, plant a tree. if you don't have space or time to plant one sponsor some one else to plant one for you. a tree is an investment in our planet, help it out.

yes the polarity is right we are supposed to be using 75 25 but our setup at works instead of bottles is a huge tank of argon and huge tank of co2 with an external mixer (that is padlocked) they have run copper lines out of the mixer to all our weld stations. I was told buy our welding supplier that he thinks they are using a 50/50 mixture of gas because it is cheaper for them. I currently us 75/25 at home and get less spatter and a better looking weld with the airco. Oh and i know what a weld looks like when the polarity is wrong we have a guy at work that likes to be a smarta$$ and switch it while you are at break.hh 187.:

sounds like a real funny guy.
i would suspect the gas mix to be the splatter problem. Co2 is not so good at higher amps and i dont think i have ever herd of a 50/50 mix, but dont know that much about the mix options just have not herd of any one using a 50/50 ??
glad to here your's is doing good at home, i supose that all that realy matters.thanks for the help

the point i was getting at about the weld mixture is i think co2 is cheaper than argon and i think that is why they are using a 50/50 mixture. we dont have your typical welding bottles. we have two huge tanks about 40 ft in diameter and 25 ft tall, the gas from them are piped to a gas mixer and then by individual pipes to our weld stations. i was just curious if anyone else has had splatter problems with the xmt 304 series or if it just might be our gas mixture. thanks for the helphh 187.:
