  • c channel materal strength question

I need to build a platform, 95" x 16", supporting a load of 2000 lbs max, supported only at the end of the 95" length. Can anyone point me in the direction of a table or calculator that will show me the max deflection of common c channel steel sizes?

2000 lbs suported at both ends is only a 1000 lbs stackic load. you put a ton of force on an 8 foot long torkwrench thats going to be some big stress on the suport point

I read it several times thinking the same thing but I really doubt he meant he was hanging the entire thing by just one attaching point but instead a clear span with no center support.
