Guy's, My bandsaw blade broke last night. It is a new blade on an old saw. I bought this saw off e-bay a while back. It's an old do-all. I think one of the wheels is out of alignment. Anyways, I am thinking about trying to tig this blade back together. Any suggestions, Thanks, Adam

bandsaw blade
I have done both mig and tig on broken blades and both seem to hold up fairly well, but as mentioned earlier in this thread make sure you anneal the blade to soften it back up. DaveIf necessity is the Mother of Invention, I must be the Father of Desperation!

Bandsaw Blades...
Hey guys,
Just thought I'd pass on some info that may help those of you who use a bandsaw regularly. I have both vertical & horizontal bandsaws and go thru blades often. I use 1/2"X.025 in 14tpi & 18tpi. I purchased one of the Harbor Freight bandsaw blade welders very reasonably on a sale flyer and it works perfectly. I buy blade material in bulk 250' rolls from an E-Bay company, SDI Hardware. The 14tpi is $55/roll and 18tpi is $66/roll..that's 20cents/ft for 14tpi & 25cents/ft for 18tpi....very inexpensive compared to going to a hardware or Lowes/Home Depot. The blade welder I got on sale for $129 and it has paid for itself many times over. Hope that may help anyone going thru blades often and wants to save quite a bit. BTW, I also silver-soldered broken blades in a jig I made and also TIG & MIG welded them before the blade welder purchase. Annealing is the most important part of getting the weld to hold.....DennyAttached Files* Complete welding, machine, & fab shop *
