I realize everyone is going to disagree with me & think I’m an idiot, but I love this hood. Absolutely no light can penetrate from behind causing glare. Its very light weight so your neck is not sore from welding all day. I have an auto lens so I don’t even take it off when I grind or wire brush between welds & it’s really good when you’re welding in tight spots. This hood is very popular with pipe welders. You must wear a welding cap, but heck, I catch myself wearing a cap everywhere except at church. For Fathers day my daughter buys me welding caps rather then tie’s……… ha Good luck, Rodney

Everytime I go into Airgas I try on the Elite and today I finally broke down and bought the Elite Inferno. Going to break it in today. I will let you know how I like it later on.

I have to admit, That is the strangest looking hood I've ever seen. but, somebody must like them or they wouldn't sell. Very different

I bought a new BWE about 3-4 months ago as a spare for my Optrel, I didn't like it as much as the old Optrel I had so I sold it to someone would like it better than I did. I have since purchased a Miller Pro which I like much better, it is a bit lighter, seems more sturdy because of the moulding, has a shade #8 which I need, the headgear ratchet works much better, and I don't miss the extra viewing area of the BWE at all. The other good part is that it cost about $75 less than the BWE. JMHO

I don't want to burst anyones bubble but!!!! I hear alot of these people on this site saying how expensive welding is , now if your going to drop 300 bucks on a helmet and your a hobby welder that's crazy. I weld for a living and I have seen more than my fair share of guys with these types of helmets all happy in the morning with their new auto helmets and crying by lunch because they banged their headon a pipe and their 300 dollar helmet fell to the ground and shattered. I personally only use an auto lens in a pipeliner helmet (fiber metal) it works at -35 below my helper has knocked it off a mod and it fell to the ground unscathed. I payed 125 bucks for it and it's 2 years old with no problems. I use one out of nessisity(arc strike on the pipeline and it's a cut out). Another thing to they don't make you a better welder and some of the cheaper ones actually harm your eyes( that's why you should always wear safety glasses under your hood) Remember you r not cool going to emergency for a welders flash which is mostly preventable. Just my opinion Jef

I had a Lincoln Auto-dark that recently the lens just cracked. I dropped the thing million times unscathed and it gets shot by a rubber band and the lense cracks. So I got a Jackson auto-dark a couple months ago that I use for stick and Mig. Yesterday I bought a Inferno BWE for work. I only Tig weld at work so I'm not worried about screwing it up.

                welding helmet

I have a speedglass 9002x auto darkening. Banged it up on pipe a bunch of times, still works just fine. this is a quality product.

I am also using a BWE The Inferno and I really don't know what I would do without it. I have only used it TIG welding so far, the shop I'm at right now I don't really think I need to bring it. I don't do enough welding to even bother having it, I have my own fixed shade there anyway. Can anyone tell me How much the batteries will cost when they go dead mines new but its been bugging me I have herd there super expensive?
Thanks for reading I hope my post helped

Big Window, if you are serious

I have a Big window at work and love it. It's light, durable and all around wonderful. The only problem is my employer doesn't stock cover lenses for is so I have to buy my own. If you are just buying a helmet for occasional use the big window is probably a bit overkill though. For school I bought a cheaper helmet (Theft, **** little G-Unit thugs ). The brand is Techmen, not sure what model, but a coworker has one and beat the snot out of it for three years and its still going. I have found it to work quite well. Just my 2 cents.
