Just wanted to introduce myself and say hi.

I have been involved in the Aircraft and Aerospace industries for the past 23 years. My interest in motorsports is as a owner and driver of a Hydroplane race boat. I just completed a dynamometer stand along with engine docking carts for my motor program. Enjoy the site so far and thanks for your time.

    Best Regards
    Scott

I love watching hydroplanes, ever since I was a kid. I've been to many of the races on Lake Washington, and they used to have them here at Lake Mead. I don't think I've been to one since Danny Sullivan was racing.

Hi Propulsion, and welcome to the site . I’ve never actually been to a hydroplane race, but between the two floating bridges on the south end of Lake Washington I have 5-summers there. So when Sea Fair would start getting ready, for a whole week we would get to watch the hydroplanes practice. The first couple years some of the boats still had the big Alison and what ever brand non-turbine engines. Man can they make the noise! Then as the years passed seems as everyone went to the turbines .

I also got the biggest kick out of watching the Navy’s Blue Angels, now that is a sight ! Whenever they would make their runs right over the bridges, we had to make sure all the booms of our cranes were down below a certain height. If one of those planes ever hit a crane boom, probably ruin that pilot’s whole day!

I'd bet it'd ruin more than just the pilot's day.
