Site changes

Just wanted to comment on the recent website changes . . .

I like it!!!

We can now access the regular Miller website, and all the information on it, through the Ask Andy site, makes it much easier to reference something when reading or responding to a thread. Previously we had to go to the "millerwelds" site to look things up, kind of a PITA without a direct link . . .

Also, just in the last couple days, Miller Motorsports message board takes you directly to "Ask Andy", there's one step skipped. Those of us with dialup, makes a big difference.

I agree, I often pull things up from the various menus at the top of the page, products, service, education, etc, so not having to open another window is nice. the best feature of it all is......that you guys fixed the search button

The think I don't like about it is that when I click the ask andy button to direct me here, then I have to sign in, but once I do that, I have apparently read all the posts, so I have no "unread" posts to read. I liked it better before when the posts I hadn't read were in bold.

I agree but sometimes it works correctly but if I turn the window off and come back later only the recent ones are in bold or the first three. If the whole first page is in bold and I only read a few and come back later none are in bold. I normally have to keep a mental note of the threads that I'm interested in I have to remember the number of replies to see if I need to read it.

Mine cookies the same as before. I get all my new posts in bold.

It might be because I use a public computer (or somebody elses) most of the time, so I don't stay signed in. So, when I open the page, it displays all the posts, none in bold. Then, once I have signed in, they don't become bold because the site thinks I have looked at them all already.

Oh, I understand the difference. Actually, unlike the Hobart board, this site has never done that for me, either. Wish they would fix it. I clear my cookies every once in a while, and when I sign back in to this one, I also have that same issue. The Hobart board remembers on its own, no matter which computer I use, while Ask Andy seems to only use YOUR computer to remember.
