  • A used 225 bobcat

I'm looking at a used 225 bobcatNT its powered by onan engine.the unit is 3 years old and has 703 hours on her and they want 1000 bucks for it.
I would like to go mobile to get a few more customers I will be repairing some aluminum outriggers and tee tops most are .120 wall. will this unit have enough power to do up to tig 1/4" aluminum.
What are some things I should look for on this welder since its used "its coming from a plumber so I don't now if he used it to thaw out pipes that were frozen"? is that hard on the welder.
Are there any options that Miller puts on this model for tigging or other forms of welding like for a spoolgun attachment or should i look for another miller model thats better for my needs.
How many hours can you expect from this unit without having problems again i dont know if its easy or hard hours on her? i know its used and may have a few bugs that seller is also not saying. my concern would be repairs if it needs any in the future that would cost some big coin.

Thanks for helping me I'm a newbie to mobile welders so any help would be great.

    Regards,
    DJ

it's priced right. many people buy the things for portable generators which they do well. It's a lot of hours for the age for an owner that doesn't weld
much which is what makes me think it was used to run an electric drill.

I would expect it has years of life left in in. we have had a bobcat around
for 20 years or so and the repairs have consisted of replacing the battery.

Buy that machine quick! I bought the same unit with 800 hrs and resold it for $1800 as quick as it was seen. I wish I had a few more...Jeff
P.S. I am not sure it would be great for your intended use but it is a deal none the less.

Id say buy it now. If its not what youre looking for sell it for a profit, I to know those sell for 1500 or more. Not sure about 1/4 aluminum though, you will need a hf box to keep a stable arc, my tb 302 takes a bit of coaxing to do 1/4 aluminum in the feild.

trailblazer 302,301, or others. You could plug a dynasty intoo that bobcat. Dont wait till friday go get as soon as possible. I have lost way to many good deals because i waited one day or more. See if you can get him down to 750, I know it seems cheap, but it will leave you more cash for accesories. Cash in hand is a sweet motivator.

Guys thanks for helping me out with my question. The welder to me has "been used hard and put away wet." I'm going to save some coin up and go for the dynasty 200 .the bobcat sounded good but I'll have to spend a lot more for extras to get it to work right for me hf box, spoolgun, leads and tig torch, etc., the dynasty 200 and maybe the passport if things go well, together it will cover all my bases.theres always power at the job site I would be working on so the bobcats gene would have been just an extra.
                  thanks again
