When you step on the pedal, do you hear some repeated sparking? If you don't hear anything like that, then your HF board is most likely defective. My HF was busted right out of the box and apparently it is pretty common with new D200DX machines. Talk to the folks you bought the machine from. Most likely they will exchange the machine for another one. Do that before trying to bring it to a Miller repair guy. I bought mine from Cyberweld and they shipped me a brand new one and let me return the defective one once I received the new one so that I wouldn't have any downtime.
If you do in fact hear sparking, there's some other problem and you should call up Miller support. Their TIG phone support group is pretty good.

thank's for the reply's i was hoping it was just me not understanding the new inverter technology and not setting it up cause i have tryed every way i could but no luck. no problem jumping in rdk that's why i havn't posted much because usally someone posts what i need to know. also when dc welding the sound is almost silent is that because the hf is not working i'm so used to syn 351 and linc pro tig that this dynasty is throwing me ques. myself

I would get to miller tig for help as soon as possible, this was happening a few months ago with the some new D200DX's, a search might bring some more light on the picture.Regards, George

Still unresolved?
drichmond,
Call Miller at 920-735-4505, choose option 4 and ask the operator for TIG applications. Tell them what is going on with your machine. Let them know it is brand new. An arc starter board is a stock item and it only takes an hour to install it.
There have been some problems with the vendor of the PCB having a bad capacitor on the board. I had the same problem: I used it once and the HF died. No problems since the HF arc starter board was replaced.
If you have problems and cannot get things fixed, email me at [email protected]
It's a minor fix and the new PCBs are working out just fine.

Miller is going to need a S**tpot full of bad cap boards to hold a candle to Dell computer! Dell has spent well over $1,000,000 replacing processor main boards on the GX270 series. Bad caps that bulge and sometimes explode. Heck I had to replace the HV caps in my Gateway 17" flat panel. I think only 1 was bad but 4 were in parallel and it was easier to just replace all 4 than it would have been to isolate the bad one.Dennis

I agree with you tailshaft. It can and does happen to every company out there in the market place. I remember 10 years or so ago when TRANE could not make and AC unit without a leaking coil. They got it fixed and on they went. It can happen to the very best.
