    no problem.
its Millers ability to stay on top of stuff and get you fixed and welding again that really sets them a step above the rest. they really are willing to work with you to fix a problem if it happens. if this issue was not being fixed and miller was trying to ignore it in hopes it would go away i would say go for some thing else, but miller is aware of the problem and will get you a new board even if it means taking it right off the assembly line. they truly stand behind there products after the sail. they reallies they cant control every thing and Pooh happens, we should also and for that reason they are there to fix it.I'm shore they are even more pissed about the bad boards than we the consumers are, even though they didn't make them it still makes them look bad so they want to fix it as fast as possible, in many cases they just send out a new welder to swoop out with ya.

Thanks James! Miller is a great company with great customer support. Its at times like these though that remind me there are other great companies out there. Input form others often saves the day (or the company). Loyalty is given for a reason--good products, and the sense to support them goes a long ways. The 200DX is definitely still in my sights!

Man, I was seriously thinking about the D200DX. If I pull the trigger I hope they have it worked out. I feel for you guys!

    Called Miller

I called Miller about my 200DX HF start no work. Only thing I could check here was point gap on Hi-Freq. coil(checked at .009") Should be OK. Other than that I have to send it back to the selling Dealer. Just wanted to say thanks for the help on this forum, glad I found it.

    Laiky

with the price war between the dell/gateway guys right now they must be looking for the lowest $$ available witch would tend to lead to more failures. they could also be using recycled parts as that is becoming more com en every day.

Thats pretty funny, were in the middle of this right now at work. Our desktop guy is on the phone almost every day getting new motherboards sent out! We probably have 30-40 of them and they fail constantly. Bad bulging or leaking caps. Wonder if it's the same supplier??

Thats very true, esp for electronics stuff of any kind. Before I retired I was sometimes buying PC's in very large lots for the place I worked. It didn't seem to matter much who I purchased from or which brand I purchased the failure rate was 10-15% out of the box. It does matter who you purchase from though, and Miller knows what the problem is, knows how to fix it, and most times will get it fixed with little hassle.

    Still unresolved?

    drichmond,

Call Miller at 920-735-4505, choose option 4 and ask the operator for TIG applications. Tell them what is going on with your machine. Let them know it is brand new. An arc starter board is a stock item and it only takes an hour to install it.

There have been some problems with the vendor of the PCB having a bad capacitor on the board. I had the same problem: I used it once and the HF died. No problems since the HF arc starter board was replaced.

If you have problems and cannot get things fixed, email me at [email protected]

It's a minor fix and the new PCBs are working out just fine.

I would get to miller tig for help as soon as possible, this was happening a few months ago with the some new D200DX's, a search might bring some more light on the picture.

Lack of noise is one of the advantages of dc tig. The hf will make a little noise but it's only needed for arc start on dc.
