  • Foot pedal ok to get wet ?

Big rain coming tonight, foot pedal was left on floor and some time the shop floods. Should I worry ?

I would be...anything electrical should not be in direct contact with water...a foot pedal for a TIG machine was NOT intended for under water use...

That's one I'd be especially concerned about. The pots in them aren't water-friendly devices. If it was a few resistors and a transistor or 3 on a circuit board, then I wouldn't worry. But, you're talking about something that has exposed contacts getting directly contacted with anything that's floating in that water (like chlorine, etc) and being corroded from it. It's a good way to ruin the action of the controller.
