  • Al. Spoolgun/MM210 vs. MM350P

I've been doing more Al. work lately and am wondering about the difference I might get stepping up to the 350P.Seems that the 210 with the 3035 gun just doesn't have enough power for the types of repairs that are coming in.Do you feel that the 350P using the 30A gun would be overkill? Looking for comments or opinions for other options as far as new machine goes.
    Thanks in advance.

BTW the 210 will be staying in the shop for other projects, not for sale.

    MACH 4,
I recently upgraded to a MM350P. I have used the 350 for a few aluminum jobs now and can say with complete confidence that it is not overkill. I have also welded some thick stuff recently and it was really nice to have the extra power. I mostly weld in the 1/8" to 1/4" range with it but like you, I have the occasional thick stuff come in.

I have mine set up with a Python Push-Pull system and while they are somewhat more expensive than their spoolgun counterparts, I would not go back after using it. If you do any kind of production work, the push-pull is the way to go so your not constantly changing out spools of wire.

This machine really shines on aluminum using pulsed spray transfer. It is no slouch on steel either and I think if you had it, you would wonder why you didn't get it sooner.

Hope it helps. If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to ask.
