I can't help ya directly but there is a Ford forum that I have read about alot of problems with the 6.0. I hang out at Dodge Diesel Resource. It's a nice place to gain info. (Like here) If ya go there and ask someone will tell you the name of the Ford forum without takein pot shots at ya. I have a couple of cummins powered trucks so I spend time there and there are a bunch of Ford guys there hang out there as well.

A cummins with an Allison behind it.

Mine's an '05 and the turbo seems ok but sometimes when I'm in reverse and go to drive, the trans won't engage and the engine revs up...then it goes in.

I have a 04 F-550, with the 6.0, and TorqShift, only problem I’ve had is keeping the intercooler hose on. I can hit 30 to 34 pounds of boost coming over the pass from eastern Washington to Seattle with 4-tons of hay on the bed. Here is a picture of how I fixed that problem. Then later I learned on “The Diesel Stop” forum that guys were blowing holes in the hoses. So I bought aftermarket hoses for that. My truck as been back to the dealer a couple times for recalls, they never said a word about what I’ve done

Yeah, just got that couple months ago. Join that diesel stop forum; I learned all kinds of things there. Be careful tho, that’s one over moderated site, and they seem to change the rules on the fly

I'm not knocking anybody's trucks, or stirring up trouble, but I know of many 6.0's with MAJOR problems in my area. They seem to be very flaky.

What can I really say though. I have owned a few 6.5 Chevy diesels. To hear people talk, they were the worst engine ever built. I have had excellent service from all of mine. My current truck has over 220,000 on the original IP. Still runs as good as new.
