I have been away from the forum since this past weekend. My father had been sick for some time. He is now at rest. I appreciate all your kind comments and thinking of me and my family during his illness.
I want to thank all the all of the military people on this board and across our great nation. Dad was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. During World War II he served in the Pacific theatre as well as being among the first to make landfall on Normandy on D-Day.
I also want to thank the Honor Guard for a wonderful heartfelt service, the 21 gun salute and the best played "TAPS" I have ever heard.
A special thanks to Colonel Mize.
