  • Cap. value for rfcs-5 or 14

Does any one know the values of the capacitors part# 028-291 used in the foot controler RFCS-5 and RFCS-14. I have a controller that I am not sure of the model# and I would like to convert it to use on my syncrowave 250 which uses a RFCS-5. These values are not in the manual for the pedals. If you know or if you own one of these pedals you could pop the back off and read it off of the components.
    Thanks

I dont know the value of the miller 028-291 capacitor and that part number is not listed in my Miller parts guide either, but it could have been superceded to a new number. If it was,the guide lists the values for their capacitors. However,i did find a thread on the AWS board that may help a little. It seems that there is a guy in Washington State that custom makes footpedals for Miller welders and I'll bet he could tell you the values of the capacitor in question.Hope this helps.....

This is a quote from the AWS board...........

Hi Josh. I ran in to a problem locating a foot control pedal for my Trailblazer 44G. It is a 1990 Machine. Miller discontinued making the foot pedal for my machine so I was out of luck. After I went nuts trying to find one, I located this guy in Washington State. His name is Paul. He custom made me a pedal for my machine. If you have a problem, try him. The phone number is 253-395-9948. I love my miller but I hate trying to find accessories. However, my Lincoln SA-250 is a dinosaur and I have no trouble getting parts. That is one thing Lincoln has over Miller. Hope it helps you. Paul.

I realize this is a very old thread, however the unanswered question shows up in search engines when trying to find the value of Miller part # 028 291 capacitors.

I found the values listed in an old pdf copy of an owners manual for something called a Miller System 9A. Inthe parts list is:

      028 291 CAPACITOR, cer disc .1 uf 500VDC

I'd wager anything of the same type and roughly the same physical size will operate completely indistinguishably.
