  • Miller Legend aux power

I got a Legend s/n starts KC. It will put out aux power at issue, but drops out once in high rpm. And won’t get power again at idle unless you flash the windings. What are the suggestions? Anybody think it might be the pull to weld/power delay module?

If it’s like a generator that’s lost it’s magnetism, once you flash it you’ll have to put a heavy load on it for three or four in high throttle to get the magnetism back.

Problem is that particular machine should flash it self. Fix the problem first before trying to flash the field with an outside source. fuse1/ SR2 this is the only reason the unit is not flashing it self.

They are very easy to test before you get them. If you know you know.

I checked SR2 and the fuse both seem to be absolutely fine

Does it have the idle lockout switch? Some straight dc Miller legends were made to be a 10000watt generator at idle. They are a very sought after machine.
