Miller helmet Clearlight 2.0 Question

Is there any difference in the image quality of the Clearlight 2 lenses?
In other words looking at the puddle is the Elite vs the Preformance vs the Infinity any better than the other?
Im just concerned with the working image rather than the whistles and bells.

Looking at upgrading from my Classic VSi ClearLight as I’m having issues seeing the puddle at low amps.

So you're asking the about the visual difference between the Clearlight and Clearlight 2.0? Between their hoods, each having the CL 2.0 I'd
think all are the same (visual quality) except for the area visible, IOW the Infinity has the larger viewing area, although I haven't tried them myself.

As far as having trouble seeing at lower amps, do you use a cheater lens? Or use reading glasses while welding, these 2 options help me. All of this presumes the lens is clean and the protective covers are fairly scratch free. I find the protective covers scratch easily if not cleaned properly.

This. You just need readers magnification and more ambient light, or task lighting on the part. And clean or replace the clear lens cover often.

Try adding better work light to your work area. I’m guessing you can see the arc, but not getting enough light to see anything else. Adding work light will help a ton.

Looking at the difference between the Clearlight 2 helmets. They have a greater range of shades 5-13 vs the classic’s 8-13.
With my Miller classic at higher amperage’s I don’t have any issues with visibility. I’ll change out the lens covers and add a task light to see if that helps. With my Syncrowave I do run my current helmet fairly low like 9 at about 100-150 amps. Playing with a Dynasty at low amps right now, but that shouldn’t make a difference.

I tend to run my hoods on the low side as well. If I’m doing a good bit, I’ll turn it down real low and put on a pair of sunglasses. That seems to work for me. Or at least in my mind it does. Keeps me from walking away with a big blue dot in the middle of the vision at least.

Clean covers, lots of task lighting and I still can’t see sh*t.
Dialed up the shade setting and backed it back down to lay with it. 8 is as low as the helmet can go and it’s not low enough at these amps.
Ordered a Sentinel A60, looks like they have the best lens right now. Half shade settings down to 5 should do it.
It doesn’t hurt that the Sentinel is the baddest looking helmet out there!

Got the A60 today, It’s a nice helmet. Only got an hour or so on it. Finished off the job I was trying to do about 3X faster because I could see.
I started at shade 7 and didn’t have to go any lower. I’ll play with the shade setting later when I have more time. Today was welding with a little time spent setting up the head gear the way I like it.
The 60 wasn’t much more than the 50 and I figure the bigger viewport would be better to see the smoke when I’m on fire.
No idea if it’s better than a Clearview 2 lens. It’s better than my Classic ClearLight, but mostly because I can set the shade lower. Unfortunately I have to report that the cool space helmet look did not make me a better welder, I was hoping.

On the idea of adding light. I setup a bench with a fume extractor for my shop. Added 2 15 watt 12v LED’s on a dimmer for a little more light.
