  • Andy ... 180 news??

    Hey Andy,

Just wanted to follow up and see if you know when the new 180 will be released and if you can offer up any more information on what it might have. Also do you have a price range???

    thanks

Still in prototyping. Field testing is next.

Since the unit is a replacement for the 180, I ASSUME the price will be near that mark. I welded with it again up at the factory last week and it has a GREAT arc and the starts are super. Even at low amps with a 3/32 tungsten it fired off.
It will be a nice addition to the TIG family.

I don't have a field to test it in ..but if you need to garage test it...like a focus group but with just one person .. let me know and I would be happy to give the new machine a try ..

Of course I just purchased an 180SD, any ideas if there can be a retrofit for the pulser addition?

I'm still lobbying for a new pulser option. Keep your fingers crossed

Is there any chance that the new 180 will be able to weld thicker metal then the older one ?

To go along with this, will it also be able to weld thinner items?

The final specs will be determined after field testing and life cycle testing.

                    Andy,
Any idea on the timeframe/schedule for this to actually go to market?
I'm holding off on a TIG unit till this one is available.
                    Thanks,
                    LJ

                        Andy,

Thanks for raising this issue within the company.

As I understand it, you are not the only one stressing the need for a replacement.

If the "powers to be" have any doubts as to the need for a replacement, feel free to refer them to this discussion group.

So roughly about how long are we looking at being able to buy one ?

                            1 year, 6 months, 5 weeks ?

Really would like to know before I buy something
