  • Homemade Sod Cutter

Here's a simple project that saved me a few bucks. I needed a sod cutter so I built one out of .025 steel, a 1" piece of conduit, a split piece of 3/4" pipe, and some 3/4" angle iron I had on hand.

I was able to open up the end of the 1" conduit enough to slip over the 3/4" pipe and drive it over the 3/4" black pipe nipple 2" + before it stopped and wouldn't move any farther down the nipple, the handle is on so tight there was no need to weld or bolt the handle on.

The pictures are posted using Miller's program. Please let me know if all my photos are being posted by clicking on arrows which show up when clicking on the pictures to enlarge them, from my side they are not. thanks
