Repurposing old semi trailer steel wheels

I wanted to put steel wheels on my 700 lb mill, I was going to roll them but went to my friend's weld shop and searched through his steel pile in back of the shop first, where I found these old trailer wheels, I drilled them out and pushed brass bushings into the axle holes.

That was a good idea--never though of actually using landing gear wheels as real wheels.

They were free too. I don't guess they are easy to find today though..

I would like to have found more of them. Their probably in China's Olympic Buildings along with every farm scrap pile in America. .

Yep--I have to say I had forgotten they even existed until I saw Tackit's post--a true flash from the past.
