  • Millermatic 200... Bringing back from the dead.... Help!

    Hi Everyone!
Acquired an old Millermatic 200, and want to restore her for my little workshop for the heavier stuff I occasionally do.
    Serial #JJ49898901
She is in need of some love.
The biggest issue I have is the Wire Feed Motor is gone... I don't mean broken... I mean MIA!
The gears are sill therein the gearbox but the motor was removed.

I found the Owners Manual and the Motor part # says:
    113 688 Motor Gear 1/2hp 115VDC 3560rpm.
Miller says that part has been out of stock since 2006, and was $900 then!
They tell me its a "Two wire" Motor.
Someone on the Welding web said I could put the later 24VDC motor in with a change to the PCB, but offered no further info.

I contacted Larry Burros, who says he has both a 2 wire, and a 5 wire, but I am awaiting more info from him.

My best guess is the wire feed motor failed, it was removed for replacement, and when no replacement was available it was pushed in a corner.
The power cord was cut off, probably to signify it was dead, no biggy.
The mig gun was removed, and also the "Hi Power" yellow female port, and its Male jack are missing.I can find those new...

Everything else looks intact, so I am hoping I can save her!
Will try to post some pictures..

I'm gonna need some help/input from you Miller experts....
Go easy on my, I'm a Miller Noob!

Best of luck, sounds more like it was used for parts. That motor is going to be hard to find.

For sure it was cannibalized a bit, but aside from the drive motor it looks like I can find everything else.
Anyone have knowledge of other options for this drive motor issue?
