  • Cleaning white face machines

I was wondering if anyone knew the best way to get the years of grease off of the old white faced machines without deteriorating the lettering and paint. Particularly on the miller 320 A/BP I recently purchased.

Acetone will take the lettering right off those old white face machines.

Even Simple Green left on more than very briefly can start to remove the lettering, but it's what I normally use...just have to be careful and watch what's happening.

I suggest wiping with water first. It won't cut grease, but should still take some schmutz off. Perhaps add a small amount of mild soap. And try it on an area you don't care about first.

Or have a printshop draw up a decal, then sand all the crap off and install the new decal.

Water and dish soap anything else you will wipe off all black letters

I cleaned up a white face 444 by just gently dabs. I understand what you are saying tho. Would definitely have to be very very careful

I use 3m hand glaze, takes a long time, but keeps the black font and shines up the white nicely and removes all the dirt
