Hello, given the Auto Set feature, is the TIG foot switch anything more than on/off? And if the Auto Set us turned off, same thing?

The foot pedal varies the weld current. It has an on/off switch inside, but its main function is to control current, so the switch is only part of what's inside the pedal. I'm am clueless about the Multimatic 200, but I would suspect Autoset is only for MIG. -
Andy Weyenberg has a new series on Youtube called Real Garage. In this episode he talks about the Multimatic 220 in tig mode. Tig can be done with Autoset, though the pedal is still used to vary the amperage. I'm with Aeronca, I don't know anything about the machine.
