  • Miller 35 shutting off

    Hi
I have an old Miller 35 that will shut off as you are welding. It's like you pulled the plug kind of dead. Oddly enough if I lift it by one corner any corner it will come back to life. If I shim one of the wheels to lift the corner it will run without issue. The power cord seems to be fine but I have no idea what to look for. If you guys have any suggestions I would love to try them out.

Have you pulled the wrapper and looked around inside lately? That almost has to be a loose connection.

Replace the wheel you’re shimming with a larger diameter wheel.

Actually that’s a terrible idea, you should probably just fix the loose wire inside the machine instead.

Using shims is the sign of a hack. You should repour the floor at the correct angle.
