  • New used machine added

Been looking for a used trailblazer as mine has 4450 hours and starting to blow oil out the breather. Still runs fine but it is getting old. Everything I found is high priced where I would rather just buy new. I was resigned that I would just wait for mine to expire and order a new one. Then I found this one 100 miles away. Older TB 250g with a feeder. I almost passed it by because it looked beat up and didn't have much info. But upon closer inspection of pics the face looked excellent and engine looked clean. It was on casters so I figured a shop machine maybe, so made contact. Original owner with 420 hours. Made the trip and bought it. Seller misread hour meter, actual is 640 but still low hours. Got it home, pulled covers, blew it out, found a big mice nest by the tank so had to pull that and clean it up with paint. Straightened many dents on tin and a quickie spray can paint, ready to go. I'll put some hours on it in the shop until I trust it, then swap it out for mine

Apart for cleaning, then all done. Set points, valves, hertz, ready to go. Also changed fuel line, battery terminals and one plug wire. Owner just changed oil and filter.

I paid 2500. I will recoup some of it by selling the feeder, guns and cables which I don't need plus probably the leads as I already have 300+ ft of lead.

Wish the paint matched better but good enough. Funny in the last pic the front looks like it matches the top but really is the same as the side panel.

Nice! Sometimes a little bit of ugly on the outside hides a great find--seen that more than once.

I have no idea why owners install truck size batteries in these welders instead of a 58A and lose the battery box. I swear it's 7 out of every 10 that I see is missing the box. SMH

That unit would be on CL here for about $3500. Not saying it would sell for that, but that is how it would be priced, $2500 if it had a million hours on it, or had a connecting rod stuck through the side of the block. Looks like a good score.

Luckily I got the original battery tray with it. The big battery that came with it is no good.

Bought this machine non to soon. My old one expired 1-1/2 weeks ago on a small local job luckily. 4585 hours. Welding fine and then it sounded like a coffee can with nuts and bolts being shaken for a few seconds plus lost power. I bumped it to idle and it sounded a little rough. Shut it down and thought for a minute, tried to start it and huge backfire with flame shot out. Ran home and loaded this new machine in the bed of my truck to finish job. Took me a week before I had time to swap it out but now it's in. Hopefully reliable like the old one was. I'll be starting and letting it run whether I need it or not until I'm comfortable it will always start. Have not even looked at what went wrong as I am too busy so it will go in a corner for now. First pic old one out.

It’s always good to have a backup, especially on the main stuff.

I agree nice score at a good time. Low enuf hours that its worth a little work. I talked to a carny guy had a new TB on the truck.. Said,,,, he loves the machine but the feeder he got to go with it has been an expensive weight to ride around.
