I covered just the gas cap and have been leaving it outside. We’ve had a couple of hard rains, no problems.
Maybe a vacuum when it rains, heavy dew sitting on the cap or just condensation down the cap vent hole.
I was just wondering if anybody had this problem or had heard of this problem before.
I took the cap off and trickled water on top and it went through, I’ll try to post some pictures of what I did about it. Surprised this hasn’t come up before, unless there are different kind of caps.
Still getting water in the gasoline but may have figured out why.
There’s a rubber bushing to connect the 1/4” fuel hose to the tank and it’s right under the the top door where you check the oil and work on the carburetor. Water can go around the edges of the door.
I’ve installed a new bushing. We’ll see if that helps.
