  • Deltaweld Phase

Looking at a dual station Deltaweld 450.

I thought those were three phase only.

Says 3 phase on the tag.

Miller manual site is hosed this morning so I can’t get the manual.

Owner claims it can be converted to single phase by moving taps in the back. Claims by doing this I’d lose the dual station capability which is fine with me. Wants $650.

    I’m doubtful.

As far as I know it is a 3 phase only machine. No data to back up, just what I was told.

I sure haven’t found a document that even mentions single phase capability.

Only 3 phase. Moving the taps only changes it from 230/460/575. Good rule of thumb is any machine over 300 amps is 3 phase.
There a a few exceptions but not many

Owner probably assumes "230" is just "normal power."
