My new Millermatic is having feed problems. One thing I found is so consistent I need to ask if it’s supposed to be that way:
- Main question is the 255 supposed to feed slower at the beginning of the weld?
My unit starts out slow for three to four seconds and then speeds up.
I can get this behavior visually by:
- opening the door
- releasing all tension on wire spool
- removing the nozzle and contact tip
- releasing the drive rollers
- setting the machine to ~450 ipm
Always, when I pull the trigger there is a three to four second period the drive roll turns slowly and then speeds up. I see this same behavior with a normal configuration of the machine and initiation a weld pass. It doesn’t gradually speed up it jumps from the slow to fast.
