  • New Guy Old Machine

Hello, new to the forum. For the past 11 years I have an old cracker box grandpa bought used in 69. Haven't asked but I will operate like it is mine till dad says different. It has has the 295 robbed to replace the burned out 150. Seems the fan likes tool oil. I tinker around with automotive, farm and household welding.

Welcome, Chris. Probably worth pulling the cover off and blowing out the dirt and critter nests. Let us know how it welds.

Hello Chris....she looks good and used. Probably just now getting broke in. We had one similar to that on the farm.

Wayne's right, take the sides off and blow it out. You might even be able to track down a part to fix that missing socket.

Power cord look to be in good shape?

Good idea, haven't cleaned it out sense 08 when I freed up the fan. Machine welds fine the only problem it seems to have is the guy holding the stick.

Hey, look, Bob has a new title I've never seen before! Took him years to get the bars finally fixed, but the title came quicker.

What does the cable ends look like?...........If there standard stud Miller type as many were.......those parts although not original to your machine can be retrofitted to any flat panel of any welder.

I have been wanting to fix it up and get it repainted for a while. Right now that back burner is not even lit.

                        NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

Don't paint it. The patina is perfect.

Thou shalt not paint rusty gold....

Although I am repainting and restoring my 1945 SBL....but that's different and I still hate the painting part, but some heathen painted it white. Justice must be served.

Found a 180 amp online. Did mine use the same body? The 180's seem to be fairly common compared to mine.
