    What kind of rails?
What metal are these rails going to be made out of?
How thick will that metal be?

Goodness, Candy, give us some details would ya?

I'd go with Fleetweld or even Fleetweld 5. Worked well for welding ships together in the 1940s.

Have you asked the Drywall guy on the welderbater site? He poses for pictures pretending to be a welder.

6011, or 6010, if the rails are a regular carbon steel, maybe 7018 if your comfortable with it in all postions, I would personally chose 6010 depending on the machine I was using. If you have a lot to do and are fairly new to welding wire would be better and faster, you could use some gas less flux core wire and knock it all out fairly quickly.

I also was guessing that you were talking about hand rails, if your talking about some other rails scratch out all of what I just said lol.

TIG it, that's how I normally do them.

But depends on what, for what application and what's the appearance necessary.

for once I'll agree with Ryan, we need more info.

Could go SMIG or SSIG in the case of poor fitup too.

Well ya. Any man holding a valid Man-Card automatically considers duct tape as a potential solution. Not that you'd know anything about that.

                          Lol,

Perhaps the Man-Card you have lost the first 2 letters. I hate duct tape, not sure why, but I do.

                            WHAT?! YOU HATE DUCT TAPE?

                            Blasphemer.

Next thing you're gonna say is you hate JB Weld and WD40.

Sorry man, don't know what it is about it.

Double sided gorilla tape, now that's come in handy once or twice.

I like JB weld, not a big fan of WD40, more so becuase I can't figure out if it does more good than bad in some cases.
