  • lincoln magnum sg spool gun wiring into millermatic 252

    Been trying to research how to cross wire my lincoln spool gun (magnum sg) into my millermatic 252? not sure if its possible just wondering if anyone else here has attempted this. i do have the miller male connector end with pins. there is 6 wires on the spool gun end. Thanks, Garrett

        I don't think it's possible. You need at least 7 wires. Your spool gun only has 2 wires for the potentiometer.

            yes only 6 visible, i will cut further down and see if any wires broke off inside

              Yes, only 6 wires. I don't know how that works with the pot. Can you make it work somehow? Probably but it might take a bit of hacking, is it even worth it? Probably better off just looking for a deal on a used spoolmatic 30a.
              I'm not familiar with the mm252 but if you can set it so that the wire feed speed is controlled at the machine rather then by the gun pot, then you just need to connect the motor drive wires and gun trigger wires to the machine.

                Separate plugs for the mig gun and spool gun. Can't set the speed on the machine.
