    Hi
I have just recieved a new Miller Dynasty 200 DX. Installed plug & switched it on to see if all the buttons do stuff. No torch or remote control attached.
when I press the polarity & the remote buttons nothing happens. All the rest do stuff.
    Is this normal?
    thanks Ji

Doesn't sound normal-I haven't used mine in about a year due to family medical issues but I don't recall any of the buttons not working at power up time. By new, do you mean you found a brand new machine, or "new to you?" Do you have the manual? If not, put in your serial number here to get one.

      https://www.millerwelds.com/support/manuals-and-parts

Could be there is a program stored that is locking those buttons. Try a factory reset described in section 5-16 of the manual. I picked a random serial number and copied that process below:

To reset all welding power source functions to original factory settings, lockout feature must be off (see Section 6-8). Next turn power on, then press the Process, Output, and Adjust switch pads before the software version clears the meters, and hold the switch pads until software version clears the meters.

If there is a lockout in place, you will have to call Miller to see if they can help you bypass it. Normally, you have to know the passcode chosen at the time the lockout was set to turn it off. 920-734-9821. Very helpful folks there.

        Hi
Yep this is a brand new machine, never used.
it came with a manual & all accessories in the box including box.
i tried again and it is now functioning through all the buttons. I did get help 12. Which is I dont know what I am doing.
True I was not looking to set it just pressing buttons.
I will hook it up soon and set it up properly.
        Thanks Ji

Glad you got it working. You will LOVE that machine. I've had mine for several years and it is just fantastic. You can "decode" the HELP 12 from the manual--I think it's section 5 that has all the help codes.

Well I believe you have the highest honor in some category now. Just not sure how to classify it??
I can't recall a welder question that wasn't able to weld. There may be some but none I can remember.
            Just sayin'
BTW...congrats on your purchase. One word, CK200FX

Yes I agree this is a machine a welder can enjoy.
Looking forward to making fusion with it.

CK200FX is a very nice water cooled torch.
I have only ever used air cooled torches before and had no problems just because my weld runs are small using small amps.

              Thanks for the comments

I did look at an Esab Caddy tig welder but it did not seem to have all the functions of the Dynasty plus it was not blue.
