    At least to me.. I bought a 1000 lumens work lamp. I was welding in my garage, on a weight disk tree. I have a tendency to wander the bead out of the seam, due to lack of visibility of the work. This cured that. Keep it within 18" of the work, and you can see while welding. I'm sure 1500 or 2000 lumens would be even better, AND THEY'RE CHEEP! $25 on Ebay! The only caveat is try not to look at the lit lamp without your hood down.

            This is for the 1000 lumen light. There are more powerful. Just put work light LED 1500 lumen in the search field.
