The Aluminum extrusion industry. I could see it there for sure. But over all, I was drawing blanks. Total zero's.
I was actually thinking ice breaker hauls or something like that, but with one very interesting tour of an Aluminum extrusion plant under my belt, I could see it happening. I was think average Joe welding 1" aluminum? Wonders never cease?
You mentioned buddy welding with 700amps. Our OP is going to need another to stack on top to keep up or come close?

You mention along time ago? Which president was running the country along time ago? Lol, willing to narrow the time line? Back in the day works to.
    Merry Christmas.

1 minute outta 10 at 400 amp.... hmmm awfully hot to keep in a run. Say you run out a filler rod, stop, reposition, grab a new filler rod. And light back up. Are you really bumping the duty cycle? On single phase in a home shop I cant see 10% being a issue. Go take a dump, drink a cup of coffee, get ya a cud of baccer, pet the dog and go back at it. I love my dynasty 400.

I'm not sure I'd want to hold a tig torch for long at 700 amps. That's pretty awesome though.

I cant see holding one at 400 amps that long... especially on AC without something like a asbestos type insulated glove. Definitely need more than a tig finger.
