Guys,
I'm wanting to add a stubby gas lens kit to my 17 torch. 1/16th and 3/32nds for DC and AC.
I've seen most of the you tube videos on the benefits to using a gas lens and stubby cup vs the standard cups and collets.
My question is........what brand / manufacturer has the best gas lenses? I know CK is right up there, what about HTP? Paraweld?
And then there are the plethora of Chinese gas lenses.....some are actually name- branded like; "Riverweld" and "Weldflame", but is seems most are NOT branded.......at least the Chinese seller ones on ebay.
Unfortunately, I have to buy on ebay as the local welding suppliers here do not carry them and basically shrug of my business when I ask if they can get them in. Such is welding supplies in Canada. BTW, Amazon.ca sucks! it's pretty useless AFA selection for anything goes........
So, what makes a good gas lens? The purity of the copper? The quality of the screens? The number of screens? Of course, none of this info is available on the advertising / specs of the gas lenses. IS the premium price for the CK lenses worth the $$? Or, will Chinese no-name / generic work OK? Being in Canada, I WILL pay double the cost that you in the US will pay, by the time it gets shipped to me.
Ditto for the collets...........
Thanks for your thoughts.
