  • Trailblazer 302 Not Speeding Up With Load

I have a 302 Trailblazer with the Robin Engine. It does not speed up under load when in either the RUN or in the RUN/IDLE positions. The solenoid is holding the engine to idle RPM. I disconnected the solenoid, and the engine RPM increases to run RPM's. I find it interesting that the RUN position doesn't work either. I have not had the chance to look at it closer.

I have only been using it as a generator. It is somewhat new to me, so I don't know how long it has not been working.

    From the troubleshooting chart:

Engine idles but does not reach weld speed.

Check solenoid linkage for obstructions, and readjust throttle linkage if necessary (see Section 7-8, 7-9, or 7-10).
Check continuity of Engine Control switch S2, and replace if necessary.
Check current transformer CT1, and replace if necessary.
    Check plug PLG5 connection.
Check power board PC1 and connections, and replace if necessary (see Section 9-6).
Check control board PC2 and connections, and replace if necessary (see Section 9-10).

Thanks for the info. Is there a place to get the service manual from? The solenoid is energized and working, so I wanted to troubleshoot the inductor, what you call CT1 I think.

CT stands for "Current Transformer" and output voltage is low AC signal.

        Sent you a PM.
