Argon bottle standing or on its side?

Gotta transport it upright.... secured... & capped with the regulator removed..........

If under regulations that require it. Heck, I got argon cylinders that don't even have threads for caps...

Regardless of regulations:

Secured is very important.
Taking off the regulator is a good idea, especially as it makes it a lot easier to secure it properly.
Capped should be done if available, and caps are available that fit around regulators that stay installed for those who use it frequently and are where no one cares.
But upright? Hey, if it's secure, it's secure. Unless you live somewhere or on some jobsite where they actually care. Some do. I don't.

Yep; it's just a high-pressure gas and doesn't care where the tank valve is.

Hi all. I recently bought a miller TB 301G. It is set up to weld aluminum. I am planning on putting it in a pickup bed and servicing commercial fishing boats in my area. Obviously welding out of a pickup bed is less desirable that off a flatbed, but I haven't got around to building a flatbed yet. I am trying to organize the space and I'm wondering if I can get input on whether or not an argon bottle can be laid on its side when used or if it has to be upright. I would appreciate any insight on this. Also, if it is on it's side, will it work with any regulator or is there a specific regulator that needs to be used when it's on it's side? Thanks in advance!
