Great idea, I would imagine that scotch brite would not hold up to much heat, but you did say low amps only. Can you post or PM me higher resolution images?
Been doing this for a while and thought I would share. I score and cut a Coca Cola bottle and sand the cut edge smooth. I sand a no 8 cup for a 20 torch and o ring fits perfect between glass cup and pink no 8. I use a bit of scotch brite or steel wool for gas lense. I use it for low amp D.C. On stainless and titanium. It lasts pretty long if I don't drop it. Costa about $1 and 5 mins to make. I have some expensive glass gas lense kits and they all break when I drop them. I like the large cup for long stick out when I need to get into a tight spot and it provides the shielding needed to get it done.
