So I purchased a 1968 or 69 sa 200 F 163 Lincoln red-face Code: 6792 last year. Changed the oil, oil filter, fuel filter and changed the oil bath filter. Other than that, that's all that machine needed. I used this machine maybe 20 times (80hrs) last year for small jobs. Since business was slow, I ended up just letting the machine sit for weeks and turning it on every other day of the week. Just a few weeks ago, I noticed that the machine does not want to spark while at "Auto Idle" but sparks when I switch it to "High idle". I also want to add that now the 7018 rods are burning too darn hot, seems like the slag wants to go ahead of the weld puddle now, and I have to end up increasing the ocvs (which burns too hot). Decreasing the ocvs will just make the 7018 and 6010 burn worse. Like I said, this machine works...No overheating, no black smoke, does not choke while welding, this machine is great...It's only the idle issue I'm having to deal with.
Not sure if it's an idle problem, but would like some ideas or solutions to this issue.
