Driver,
Are you wanting an AC ONLY inverter? Does such a beast exist? I agree, if Miller had a machine such as you seek, I would probably want one too, ac/dc, of course. But I still believe Miller doesn't want a machine in direct competition with the Dynasty series. I've briefly looked at Lincoln, Everlast and other machines and they are ridiculously cheaper than Miller, but I've also read the horror stories. I have 3 Millers, one almost 20 years old. I believe the old mantra's of "Buy the best, screw the rest" and "Buy once, cry once." I understand your disappointment, but what you seek only comes in other colors.

Metjunkie ac dc inverter would be nice with hi freq. Small package. Easy to plug into a Gen. For portability. I guess I want my cake and eat it to. I would just like to see a inverter machine with ac in a price point to go against the comp. I don't want red or green. With my luck I buy one of the comp and it fails and I end up spending twice the amount.

I apologize for being a butthole to you mr James Bond driver double O 7. Seems you spoke up with the wrong thing at the wrong time....and took some friendly fire....

That other guy just got under all of our skins....

And thanks to the Miller folks for chiming in before we hung an innocent man.

....now, that picture there....that's some Welders by God....

Here's were I stand on the whole "cheap" Miller machine....you don't find a Cadillac for the price of a ford escort, do ya? It's how a company keeps the value high, be it perceived or real, in its products. Take Toyota, for example, they don't discount anything. Ever. Keeps the resale value up. Makes people want them because they're quality machines and maintain their value....or depreciate more slowly than others at least.

Anyway, again, my apologies to you good sir. Man! What a crappy welcoming you got! Glad to see you have thick skin.

771 has been a bit slow starting to pick up. They just came off a long run of good work for many years. It is not as bad as the 80's and the boys are picking up work. Most of the travel cards are gone. The shut down season will start soon in the potash mines and power plants. There is no reason for a person to be broke up here if they have been working the past ten years. The boy's pulled big time hours for along time. ryanjones2150 no harm no foul I agree in the whole sale thing but a low end ac dc would not go head to head with a Dynasty because the dynasty would win out with all the bells and whistle's. But they would sell a lower unit to guys like me for the home shop who would not buy a Dynasty but would buy a unit at a lower cost for home. My next purchase will be a 5500 watt Yamaha gen so I can go portable and use for a house back up.
