I run a small fabrication, blast, and paint shop with around 20 employees. Have any of you came up with a system of rating or ranking your employees. For example Class A, Class B, & Class C welder/fabricator?

Troy, thats a tuff one, welding is fairly easy to gage, anyone can weld, its fabricating ability that gets you more money in my shop, attitude and punctuality also play into the scheme of things, Ive also learned to get rid of problematic employees, one bad guy can really drag a shop down and cause good guys to quit.

I have written job descriptions to cover the different levels of ability I was looking for. The categories were: shop helper,MIG welder,TIG welder, welder/fabricator. The descriptions laid out the skills required for each position and the wage range we were offering. With this set up people knew what was required to advance and how much money they could expect at each level.

The <br> tag inserts a single line break.
The <br> tag is an empty tag which means that it has no end tag.
